Alpamayo 5947m – Quitaraju

Both mountains are scaled from the same Field 1

We head to the town of Cashapampa (2,900 m.) where the approach march to base camp Alpamayo starts. Camp in Llamacorral (3800 m.)

We reach the base camp (4300 m.)

This day will begin a tough climb up the moraine of the glacier Alpamayo to enter and reach the Camp 1 (5200 m.) In glacial area.

We climb on the road in the best conditions at that time. The Alpamayo has several channels, being the best Ferrari (450 m D + / 65. – 80 °) route

Rest on field 1 (optional)

Quitaraju ascent to the north wall (400 m. D)
Return to camp 1

Return to base camp

Descend to Cashapampa and return to Huaraz.
