Akilpo – Ishinca Trek
It is one of the most beautiful hikes in the Cordillera Blanca, where you can see many landscapes, lagoons, forests of quenuales and mountains. It is a gentle trek, many tourists do it to acclimatize before doing a long trek.
Itinerary:
Transfer from the city of Huaraz to Honcopampa. From here we begin our hike to the Akilpo lagoon. During our hike we will pass through a beautiful forest of quenuales. 6 – 7 hrs Approx.
After breakfast we begin to ascend towards the Urus pass 5000 m.
From here we will have a panoramic view of the snowy mountains Vallunaraju, Ocshapalca, Ranrapalca, Ishinca, Tocllaraju, Palcaraju and Urus. Then we will begin to descend to the Ishinca camp. Where we will spend the night.
This day we will begin to descend through the Ishinca ravine until we reach Cochapampa. Where our private transportation awaits us to go to Huaraz.
