Considered by many as the most beautiful mountain in the world in the contest scenic photograph of Munich 1966, Alpamayo is one of the mountains icons of the Cordillera Blanca by the incomparable pyramid shape of its southwest side, which also is the world famous Ferrari route opened in 1975 by Italian climbers.

The Cordillera Blanca is home to several well-known ’round the world for its breathtaking beauty and exceptional climbing mountains. Alpamayo is one of these illustrious peaks that attracts an international suspension of climbers each year, all hoping to climb the southwest face and personally experience the grandeur they have seen in the photos of this mythical mountain.

Itinerary:

Huaraz exit Northbound to Cashapampa starting our hike on a approx 4 hours. thus leading to the camp, Llamacorral 3750m.

On this day we start walking through the valley enjoying the beautiful scenery and Ichiccocha and Jatuncocha gaps, continuing the way to reach Alpamayo base camp. Camp.

We climb a steep and rocky path to reach the glacier to begin the ascent to the col and then get to Campo Alto where we set up camp.

We will start this day very early (1.00 to 2.00 am) to climb and reach the base wall of the Ferrari route with an angle of approximately 75 ° here start climbing the wall to reach the top and to delight the vast landscape that we gives the Alpamayo. Return to Camp Alto

This day descend by the same route until reaching the Base Camp. Camp.

We return by the Santa Cruz Valley to the village of Cashapampa. Return to Huaraz.
